About
We are closed temporarily. Klein River Cheese Farmstead is a celebration of cheese, picnics and family. We exist to unleash the inner artisan in every one of us. We are not selling cheese and picnics but creating chefs and romantics, nature lovers and healthy, family-centered ambassadors. Our cheese is a vehicle to join the artisan movement. Klein River Cheese Farmstead is not only about our products, it’s our culture.

We had a great experience previously and wanted to take family to taste and see the farm. They are closed and we drove all the way to their farm only to note that they are closed on arrival. If you are not listed anymore you should remove yourself from being visited.

I would highly recommend the Klein River Cheese Farm for a visit, especially if you have young children. The little ones will love feeding the animals. There is a lovely play area that is nicely shaded. What really made me happy was that the baby changing facilities were clean, and tidy. A real little gem.

Stopped in briefly to visit the deli. Delicious cheese and great selection of breads,preserves etc.
Picnic area looked good but can't comment on facilities as didn't stay. Plenty of young families enjoying the space.

Nice relaxed atmosphere with option of picnic on the lawn under the trees or seated under veranda outside cheese deli. Child friendly with plenty of space to run around. Trampoline and play area. Farm animals : donkeys, rabbits, guinny pigs, chickens and geese.

We are not picnic people and were pleasantly surprised! We could pack our own baskets (9 in our party) and the cheese and meat selection was really good.
Baskets come with table cloths and everything is VERY well organised. Worth a visit!

Ah, nothing beats a cheese picnic after a super hike in Stanford.
A great selection of cheeses which you can all taste in the Deli before deciding on your picnic setup. The smoked ones are super delicious.

We passed Klein River cheese on our way back from Struisbaai, this after we first visited Stonehouse on our way in the morning to Stuisbaai. First impression is the smell of fresh farm air and the animals was a big treat to the kids. They have a huge variety of cheese and a well equipped playground for the kids. We sat and had something light to eat. The tame boerbok was a treat as it came and begged to be patted and receive a scratch on the back. We will definitely visit Klein River cheese next year when we are on holiday again.

An excellent "pop-in" and visit, to buy some cheesy comestibles (which are "tip top" by the way) or a "sit and stay a while" and have a picnic on the beautiful garden lawns, whilst the kids play in the playground and visit some farm animals. A great spot!

The children had fun, the adults enjoyed wine and excellent local cheese. It's a wonderful venue, great view, good service! Will definitely return!
