Had been looking forward to trying out this incredibly steep ride (82 degrees at one point allegedly) and taking in the stunning views at the top. But when we pulled in to a car-park over grown with weeds we knew something was up.
Although there isn't much to do on the top station, it is worth going there for the magnificant views. Plan 1,5-2 hours for the circular walking tour. A lot of constrction work going on there. Free with Karnten card, so take advantage of that.

This funicular does not currently go as far as it once did and is reported to be closing next year (rumour). However the part that is closed is through a long tunnel to the reservoir which is not much higher than where it stops now....More
