We did not visit the museum but they gave us a map to seal colonies nearby. Turns out it took nearly 30 minutes, mostly on gravel roads, to get there. But the sunbathing seals were delightful.

Ate at the restaurant on the premises, and it was exceptional. The cuisine in Iceland is far from plain.

This is a small museum where we learnt a lot. I would recommend a little paint and some more lights to make it more enjoyable. The person working at the desk was the nicest ever, she provided us every info we needed with a lot...More

On our way around the Ring Road, we stopped over at Hvammstang to visit the Seal Museum. The museum was small, showed a nice video about seals, and had several nice displays. We didn’t have time to go on the boat ride to look at...More

This museum was very small. Not exactly what I was expecting when we arrived. However, the money they raise does pay for seal research. So I feel good about spending the money. There is a grocery store right next door if you forget something along...More

A decent place to visit but it didn’t offer much for the $16 per person admission. Still the funds go to a good cause. The center offers displays of seals who were made it easier to identify seals on the beaches and it offered insight...More

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I think you must have miscalculated the price of entry to the museum, however. At the time of writing the US$ value of our 1100 ISK entry fee is $10.05, the reduced price (for Seniors,...More

We stumbled across the Seal Center when looking for things to do while our stay in Hvammstangi. The gift shop was cute, a lot of Hvammstangi pronunciation tips (ha) and a lot of seal getup. The museum was a great visit- really informative about the...More

Friendly & helpful. Free restrooms! Didn’t do the museum but did see seals via route 711. Also some nice person placed my lost scarf where I could find it. Thanks!
