Highly recommended !!! Be ready to walk 2000m and 225m up from the parking. Take care of proper tracking shoes and take enough water with you Magnificent and one-of- the-best ( if not the best) views in the basque country if on the way from...More

From the car park it is a constant up over for some 45/60 mins, sometimes over quite difficult ground. But the sights when you get up to the top of the gorge is extremely impressive and well worth the slog. The bridge seems to attract...More

My partner dropped me off at the Auberge Logibar and I walked from there to the Holzarte suspension bridge and then on to our hotel in Larrau. This is a very decent walk (around the 12-15 km mark) but not too demanding if you are...More

We put our 19-month-old twins in the baby carriers and off we went! Steep and muddy (March 2017) but definitely doable. Get here. The mountains and rock formations, and the clear blue river and then of course the harrowing bridge over the canyon... ahh, SO...More

After visiting the La Verna caves in the morning, this was our afternoon activity, and it was fantastic. An hour walk up some challenging (but not overly so) paths took us to the bridge. The unevenness of the ground and slipperiness of some of the...More

After 2km hike that goes up, up and finishes with about 200m of altitude difference from where you start, the reward will be achieved, but beware, the bridge shakes and it might be pretty scary for individuals that fear the height. Still a great attraction...More

This is a fantastic day trip up hill to reach a fantastic bridge across a gorge. Note the hike is not that easy so be ready to go uphill

It was a wet day when we headed to Holzarte so we were worried it might be difficult getting up there after reading other reviews, but if you are wearing sensible shoes it's not a difficult walk at all. It's fairly steep but only took...More

Another traveller suggested Holtzarte to us whilst staying in the Vallee D'Aspe and it was a brilliant recommendation. We took our walking boots and our very hot (it was 35 degrees) 6 & 7 year olds on this stunning walk. It's quite a challenging walk...More

Challenging hike up to the bridge for our youngest, 5, and granny, but well worth the effort. You can do this in trainers, bit of a scramble up some rocks, with handrail, ropes to help. Would be difficult on a wet day. Good reasonably priced...More
