I can highly recommend the canopy tour. It is very professionally run and the guides are just amazing - loads of fun, very encouraging and above all, very professional. They were also very patient when nerves got the better of you; they were always ready to do a tandem ride when your feet just wouldn't leave the platform!!!

Good fun. Well worth a stop (need to book in advance!)- but not a long detour. However I think the video and in particular the pictures were not worth the price (poor light quality). In addition there should be one video per family, instead of one video per individual.

What a fantastic experience this was - a chance to soar through the treetops on 10 different zip wires! Our guides made us feel perfectly safe at all times, as a small group of us experienced each zip wire in turn. Myself and my husband are in our 60s and we didn’t feel it was difficult for us in any way. There was a bit of a walk, some of it uphill at the end to meet our transport back, which was a little tiring, particularly as the weather was very warm. We had a chance to purchase photos and our own personal video (which was excellently produced) at the end, at a very reasonable price. Everyone there were extremely friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. For a unique experience, I would thoroughly recommend this.

The zip lining itself was good - my issue was with the lack of clear safety procedures in inclement weather. Around the second zip line (out of 10), we saw lightening and heard thunder nearby. At this point the guides asked us as participants if we felt safe and wanted to keep going. This was unacceptable to me - as the tour company, it is your responsibility to determine if the situation is safe and not something that should be left up to the customers to decide. Our guide said she was really nervous, but she said it was our choice if we stayed up or not. We ended up leaving the course, the bad weather passed, and we went back out and had a great time with really kind guides - they just need to be empowered to make the safety decisions in the future.

Thank you for choosing Tsitsikamma Canopy Tour to unzip adventure at.
Whilst we can not make excuses for the behavior of staffs, i wish to sincerely apologise for the discomfort. In an event where there is heavy weather, guides are asked to constantly check if their clients are fine to continue with the tour. We have to emergency exits - at Platform 3 and Platform 8. Pulling clients back is more riskier in such weather thus it is advise to slide to the nearest exit and immediate get off the system.
I am pleased to hear you did go off the system and again afforded the opportunity to go in and experience a wold of diversity in one forest.
We look forward to having you back in our parts of the hood.

Our family have done 2 other canopy tours in South Africa. We were really looking forward to this and unfortunately it was beyond disappointing. The 1 female guide rushed us during our entire experience - didnt make us feel comfortable, nor did she wait for us to calm our nerves if we were scared before we had to proceed. It is a 2-3 hour experience - we were done in an hour and a half because she said she has to get back. I would not recommend this canopy tours to other visitors. Rather go to karkloof or drakensberg.

Me and my daughter loved the day out and was especial existed to create new memories .Staff was great and the day was lovely.
We where a bit disappointed in the bad quality of the video and photos. or let me say the lack of it. R250 is a hefty price if there is Hadley an shots of yourself on the video . most is pre recorded and the last bit of the trip is nothing where we posed and do silly things on the last slide.
We did this 10 years ago and clearly the technology was better then than now.
I also think this is to pricy for South Africans and we should get a better rate than over seas clients.

What an amazing experience! From the actual zip lining to the excellence of the guides (Bernadette and Nadia), their attention to our safety was exemplary and much appreciated. It was however, the banter and their extreme friendliness that really stood out, was welcomed and elevated the experience even further. I will most definitely recommend to friends and be back myself. What a brilliant experience. My wife and I are over 60 and wasnt sure about if we could do this but you can.
We had Max as our leader and he was just terrific, we also had Allah "Tuff Boi" as Max calls him as our safety man/ catcher and what a lovely helpful guy he was too and rounding up our team was Seku who took some fantastic photos for us.
The whole expeience is 100% safe and you feel very confident in the way these guys harness you in, give you instructions and if you are a bit nervous like me, gently encourage you to complete the experience.
The whole thing is eco friendly, the attention to detail to not harm the tress and forset is really very impressive. You start off with a couple of easy wires albeit 30-40m up in the air and then you progress to longer and faster wires zipping along 10 in all.
You can purchase a video and photos at the end and its very reasonable around £10 but all the while you are up there the guides will take you phones and film and photograph you on your own device.
Our total time was a bit over 2 hours and it was a thrilling and brilliant experience made all the better by our guides.

My family and I recently had the absolute pleasure of experiencing Tsitsikamma ziplining canopy tours, and it exceeded our expectations in every way!
The guides (Max and Nqobile) were knowledgeable, safety-conscious, and ensured our comfort throughout. Their infectious enthusiasm made the experience even more enjoyable.
The course itself was breathtaking – soaring above the treetops, taking in stunning views, and feeling the rush of adrenaline as we zipped from platform to platform.

What an amazing experience, flying through the ancient trees. The guides are well trained and informed. The attention to detail and safety is really good. They constantly check and double check all harnesses at every platform and are in constant communication with each other. Both Jacky and Joy were such phenomenal guides with so much info shared with us from platform to platform teaching us about the surroundings, trees, birds and general wildlife. They are passionate and truly care for the customers experience sharing their passions, laughter, fun and experiences throughout their days with tourists, etc etc. They offered to take pictures for us and created an amazing relaxed atmosphere that took any fears, (mostly mine), away.
We were so grateful that we waited till we arrived at this company to do the zip lining.
Dont hesitate. Book now for a journey of a lifetime. I will definitely do the 10 zip lines throughout the trees again.
The only part that was not fun was the 600m uphill walk/hike back up to the open vehicle that takes you to and from the base office. Really amazing!

Hi, no it depends on when you plan to visit them. You only need to book in advance in December and January. The rest of the time you can get a booking for the same day, the time might be a little different. Hope this helps.

Hi, I was planning a trip and was confused between Canopy Tours vs Ziplines (by Tsitsikamma Falls Adventure). As an outsider (ie neutral and being fair), can you pls help me with the differences between the two... I've a 12-year old kid as well - any preference from kid's perspective?

My wife is terribly afraid of heights and she was petrified at the first platform, however she went on to do the whole trip, no quitting after the 3rd platform (which is an option) and at the end wanted to do it again. She always says to people, you will never understand her fear until you have a genuine fear like hers.
