Stopped here for a moment after visiting the houses. This church is simpler than many but still pretty in its own way.

This is a lovely church not far from the centre and (literally) just around the corner from the bus stop. Well worth a look. Beautifully decorated, as others have commented. Often missed, since the main attraction is the triangular houses built by the early settlers....More

A ice little church in the centre of Santana. Peaceful and tranquil near the steam that rind through the town. Worth a visit but like a lot of other churches on the island.

We found the church just off of the tourist route. Loved the calm peaceful atmosphere. An incredible amount of work must have gone into the building of this magnificent church.

A very quiet and peaceful church that has not overtaken by the huge amount of tourists visiting the village. spectacular altar and side alcoves. Decorated in Portuguese blue and white tiles. The church is in baroque style it dates from the 1700’s
