We hiked from Votslakia to the Cave around 11am, we had the sun in our back and it was just really hot. We recommend going in the morning, from our own experience. The trip took around 1,5 hour before we got to the cafe, staff...More

There's not much to this - the name says it all: Cave. The hike up is short but steep so if you are afraid of heights it might be a tad scary but honestly not bad at all. Nice views and scenic drive to get...More

We drove all the way to the taverna at the bottom of the trail in a 1.2 litre engine, bit scary at times, but you can definitely make it in a car. The path up to the two chapels and one cave is not too...More

Now that the route from Votsalakia to Pythagora's cave is on a reasonably well surfaced track/road it can be walked fairly easily, (in 25 degree sun!), even by those of us of 'advanced years'! Be sensible, take a litre of water per person, and enjoy...More

There are 2 caves here. We rode from Kokkari which was quite a long trip, but the views were amazing, as you go into the mountainous centre of the island. One cave is where he lived and one is where he taught. I went to...More

We walked in the afternoon from Votsolakia to the cave. There is a taverna at the foot of the steps which lead up to the chapel at the entrance to the lower cave which was Pythagoras's workshop. The whole round trip took us 3 hours...More

At the end of a long and warm hike there's this nice bar for a relaxing drink, and when you've finished that there's another 60 meters to the caves

Go to the cafe below the caves, have a coffee and get an explanation about the caves (yes, there are two). Remember to go to both ... one will require a little bit of climbing. There are a couple of small churches near the caves,...More

It is nice walk to the cave, we were lucky on the weather - windy afternoon was ideal for the road but in the mountain during reaching the cave it wasn't best feeling with the stronger wind and not solid ground under the feet. For...More

We weren't prepared for the hike/climb to visit the Cave of Pythagoras. We had two young children and all wore flip flops (thongs). The climb is steep but not difficult, once you are up in the cave the view is amazing. If your into a...More
