Not a forest and not a typical Dutch residential area. Large villas in a quiet wooded area but also very near the center of town. Very nice places to live in or admire.

Bergen is a really pretty village set in the dunes close to beaches. Some good restaurants and more than enough shops for those seeking retail therapy. Beautifully lit at night and even more picturesque when under snow (not often). Old half-ruined church from 16th Century...More

Bergen has interesting architecture from the"amsterdamse school" 1915-1918.The villa,s with tatched roofs fringe the woods and there are many walks to the nature reserve nearby. Eventually the woods thin out in the sandy dunes and the broad sandy beaches are reached. In the village centre...More
