26 kilometer round trip from where we were staying, on a mountain bike i was dead/dying my butt was so sore and had pins and needles but totally worth it for the views! try to get a lift there haha

I grew up right a few miles away up. This lake is such a peaceful place. Pure nature, if you're around you should definitely visit this place!

So awesome lake with charming views of the mountains and very peaceful surroundings.. Fresh air , hiking and walking around the lake is super.. Parkings are availabe.. Very safe.. Toilets are available.. Chairs are around the lake to enjoy a sitting with deep breathing Nature...More

This is just a good 35 mins drive from Gmunden and the lake is breathtaking. Fresh air, nice walks, what more can you ask for? There is also a big restaurant which we did not try, but the menu looked promising.
