Brilliant wide open Karoo landscapes and stunning Karoo night skies to gaze at. Excellent accommodation and efficient management add to the experience. We spent a few days here and explored the whole park. Stunning scenery and one of the nicest of our national parks.

This is a very spectacular. meant to be one of the most beautiful of the reserves in South Africa. We saw plenty of animals in the one loop, none in the second loop. the animals were more shy than in some of the other game parks so binoculars are useful

We stayed in one of the family cottages, perfectly appointed. The scenery is breathtaking, the park was beautifully green after some recent rains. The game viewing was very good, overall high on the list of places to return to!

The wide open spaces of the Karoo are quite dramatic with the back drop of the mountains. The park is semi arid as you can see from some of the photos , yet diverse with some lush sections. The plains are home to several types of antelope including Springbok and Gemsbok . Here they have Black Wildbeest, quite attractive in... More

We stayed in one of the Mountain Cottages which was around a 20 minutes drive from main camp but so worthwhile. The remoteness was just what we were looking for and the fact that these cottages have no mains electricity just added to the atmosphere. There was solar for the lighting but we quite liked the paraffin lamps, a gas... More

To-day we visited the Mountain Zebra National Park near Cradock (again). This park offers a large variety of animals such as zebra, buffalo, buck, oistrich, baboons, etc., etc. We saw most of them to-day. Apart from the animals the park offers a stunning Karoo landscape. The infrastructure is very good and there is a restaurant offering good food in the... More

We were staying at the camp for 2 nights. The drives (with our own car) resulted with seeing a lot of different animals, mostly in early morning and evening. We also booked the cheetah tracking which was fun. The camp gate closes at 19:00 and opens at 06:00 in summer so, unfortunately, we could not take a late/very early drive... More

We discovered this NP because we changed our plans in Addo and were happy to have done so, this is a great discovery. The campsite has large spots and because there were less people it felt very private. Clean ablutions too.. The NP itself has beautiful scenery, certainly the drive up into the hills is rewarding. Anyway this was a... More
