    Scenic with unique Zebra
Beautiful park set in scenic mountains.l We visited in winter, the wind was very cold, and take lots of warm clothes, and sleeping bags. Herds of game in good condition, Saw Mountain zebra, blesbok, sprinbok, wildebeest, and rhebok. The park also host lion and cheetah, although we did not see any on this trip. The campsite is well maintained with good facilities. The security attendant at the main gate was informative and helpful. All in all a very good experience and we look forward to a return visit.

    Top notch park.
I love Mountain Zebra! Amazing scenery, heaps of blesbok, springbok, black wildebeest and mountain zebra on Rooiplaat, with rarer species on Kranskop. Saw cheetah twice and a big male lion. The walk behind camp is excellent. The chalets are fantastic. Don’t miss it.

    Mountain zebra and much more
We had a great couple of days in Mountain Zebra NP. We saw a lot of wildlife (including ostrich, black wildebeest, cape buffalo, springbok, vervet monkey, baboon, hartebeest, blesbok, kudu, brown hyena, cheetah and, of course, cape mountain zebra) and the scenery was fantastic. I also undertook the cheetah tracking experience, which I'd recommend. We were in a very modest hatchback car, but it could cope with the terrain. This was one of the highlights of our visit to South Africa.

    Wonderful spot
What an epic park. We survived massive hail storms and South Africa’s routine power outages, but spent time watching a cheetah looking for prey, heaps of mountains zebras, springbok, blesbok, and black wildebeest, and some rarities like aardwolf. Scenery is superb, restaurant is good, and the chalets are excellent,

Best game viewing and night drives
I highly recommend this park. The accommodation was very nice with good view, fireplace inside and braai area outside. Spacious rooms and bathroom serviced regularly. The game viewing was some of the best I have ever experienced. The night drives were amazing. I saw many nocturnal species, aardwolf, porcupine, nightjar, brown hyena, genet, cape hare, scrub hare, bbj, owls, lions, cheetahs and many more. The staff at reception and restaurant were very friendly and the food at restaurant was good. A very special shout out and BIG THANK YOU to the guides, DES and RICHARD. They were amazing at identifying the nocturnal animals and excellent guides. The cheetah tracking by foot was very exciting. Only recommendation is that the fireplace inside should be closed not open as the smell of smoke can fill the apartment easily and the night drive should start 1 hour later to give some time in between gate closing time and start of night drive. I will be back as soon as possible.

    A beautiful park worth exploring
I only got to do a day visit but loved the park. I started my day with a cheetah tracking experience. It included a great game drive and our cheetah encounter was perfect. We got nice and close and had a perfect sighting. Afterwards I took a drive around the park and the views of the landscape is stunning.

    Well worth the journey
Off the beaten track but well worth a visit for stunning scenery and close up animal experiences. We managed to tick 22 out of 29 of the animals off the list including a walking tour to come within 10 meters of a cheeta and her cubs feeding. Evening/nighttime Safari tour also well worth the money. All guides were extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. We stayed in one of the Rock villas which was well kitted out and had stunning views of the park. Recommended to stop in Cradock to buy supplies for meals

    Lovely National Park
This was our 12th SANP park to visit. We stayed four nights on rest camp unit #23, and enjoyed every minute. This unit was on top condition and very clean. Nice braai, good housekeeping, short walk to reception. The whole park is full of unforgettable scenes and nice animal sightings. You MUST book cheetah tracking, and misters Richard and Andrew are really top class guides to find you something unforgettable to see. We also highly recommend You to book night drive. Despite really unpleasant weather we saw eg. bush pigs and some other rare animals. Restaurant is also very nice, really enjoyable stew and shank - as carpaccio, too. On all routes You can find unbeliveable nice sceneries. So remember to drive all self-drive routes. Including the southernmost one! At reception they have really five star staff! If something to complain, Park Shop does not have such a great variety of food items and wines - but distance to Cradock Spar and Tops! is relatively short.

    Wonderful experience
Wonderful park set in a beautiful mountain setting, we really enjoyed our visit to the park. The chalets were clean and well equipped. They have the most amazing views!! The game up on Rooiplat was great - black wildebeest, blesbok, Cape mountain zebra. Pool was nice, the staff friendly and the restaurant was solid. We will most definitely revisit the Mountain Zebra Park

Absolutely stunning scenery and driving. Mountains and plains, experience a slice of the Karoo. Relatively quiet compared to national parks boasting the Big Five, mountain zebra is as much about its scenery, clean air, and experiencing the high plains as it is about its animals.

Herds of springbok and red hartebeest roam the plains, with wildebeest, jackals and ground squirrels. An abundance of birds to enjoy too.

The accommodation was modern by SanParks standards - make sure you select a place with a view as some views looked far better than others and it was priceless watching the sunset over the mountains unencumbered.

Two good pools to choose from and a good restaurant, it was a really relaxing and beautiful place.

We enjoy camping in the SANPARK parks due to the safety aspect, as well as the nature/game experience they offer. However, it is sad to see how some of the parks are slowly, but surely, deteriorating due to lack of maintenance. Mountain Zebra Park is one of the parks where this was very clear in the camping grounds. They advertise power and water on every site that is marked as such on their website - however in the block where we camped (8 campsites) there was only one tap that worked. All the others had no water???? On our site there was a piece of metal stuck in the ground, but partly protruding - causing a serious injury hazard. The ablutions, which, on the ladies side there were 4 or 5 showers, of which none worked properly. Either the shower head was missing, or taps were not working, or the doors leaked and the entire floor became a pool of water. Karoo National Park, on the other hand - was in good state of repair and it was a pleasure to visit them

The park itself is an absolute gem. Incredible landscapes, wildlife diversity and the cheetah tracking is a must. We were fortunate to get close to the mother and her cubs. Special.
The restaurant staff are pleasant and even though the "decor" needs a lift the food is good.
There is a downside. We stayed in the Rock Chalets and even though this is supposedly the 5 star option the unit was looking very tired. The rugs are worn and shabby. The electric blanket had a two prong plug to connect to a three prong wall plug !! We managed to get an adaptor from reception the following day. The wooden outdoor chairs were so wobbly it was risky using them. When we complained the 'maintenance' man solved the problem by swopping the chairs with those from the rock chalet next door !! Not quite good enough....
