Simply amazing experience. The lady behind this fantastic operation is so lovely and kind-hearted and takes such good at of the cats. I learned so much about the wild cat diet – made me think of the food I eat. We learned ever so much about these cats under her care. The cat conservatory is about 35 minutes outside Cradock/Mountain Zebra Park and was the highlight of the area for us. You can phone or email for a reservation. Truly recommend if you are interested in wild cats.

We enjoyed an evening Cat Experience which our two young girls really enjoyed - very educational and great to see these cats up close. Stayed for a meal which was excellent, nothing fancy but a very good home-cooked meal (the malva pudding was incredible!!). Finished the evening off with a night drive which was another great experience - didn't see a lot due to the cold, clear night but thoroughly enjoyed the whole evening.

Visited the sanctuary & saw Serval, caracal ^ African wild cat being fed. They are housed in cages with really realistic/natural places to hide & sleep. The care is wonderful & it is a great opportunity to see these small/ shy creatures which are normally nocturnal & impossible to spot in a nature reserve

The drive to the conservation was eventful - sheep on road, beautiful trees, all types of animal life. The tour was highly educational. This is for a great cause. The cats are well taken care of and heathy. This was so informative and it was nice to see these animals close up and have more appreciation for them. Usually in the wild we see a glimpse of them or rarely see them. They are not only working on cat conservation but conservation as a whole for sustainability e.g. education farmer, children. Call a ahead to make a reservation. Feeding of the animals is done in the morning which was the best time for us to see them come out of there homes and hiding.

It's fun to get so close to such amazing and beautiful animals, and watch them interacting with each other and many of the stimuli provided. The work being done there seems to be a "good thing" e.g. not being raised to be shot, or as pets. The animals really are being cared for in the name of conservation, and this is a good opportunity to learn more about them and support the effort.

I was hunting on Richard & Marion's property, and we went with Marion one afternoon when she feed the cats. Marion was very knowledgable about the cats, and we could tell she really cared about the work they are doing there. The information she covered was very interesting.

While traveling through the East Cape, I came upon the Cat Conservancy in Cradock SA. This aroused an interest within, so my friend and I arranged a tour of the facility. We were greeted by Marion Holmes, who runs the program. She gave us an extensive tour and we learned so much about these smaller forgotten, but vital African cat species. We were fortunate to experience feeding time, so we got to see the cats come out of their hiding places. To me, it was as exciting as seeing a leopard or lion. The plight for these small cats is an uphill battle. However Marion is most dedicated and sacrifices much of her own time in an effort to prevent the potential extinction of these smaller African cats. A wonderful cause. I hope to come back again someday. Thank you Marion...

This is a wonderful place to be. Far away from all the hazzle you will find Marion and her little african wildcats. Marion is a great source of information about these endangered species. Don't miss the feeding in the afternoon. Here you will see how much Marion loves all the animals and you can get informations about every single cat and why it is necessary to take care of these not often recognized animals.

The cat conservation trust or also known as Karoo Cats is a project/sanctuary where people care about the smaller things in live. I have been more then one occasion at the cat conservation trust and also was fortunate to be involved in some release/re-location projects with them. The difference between the cat conservation trust and other wildlife projects/sanctuary is that other places are looking/concentrating on BIG animals/cats so that they can attract tourist, the cat conservation trust focus just on the smaller predators...............sometimes we forget about them because it's always leopard, cheetah and lion when it comes to us as visitors. Those big cats I can go and see anytime at any big game reserve, but when ever were you lucky to see a serval, wildcat or black footed cat on a reserve.......they so small and illusive that on game reserves we drive past them without seeing them. That's why I like to visit the cat conservation trust, I get to see these small predators that we forget about and not only see them, but get a educational talk on them. I do recommend anybody in that area and that would like to see something different and amazing, make sure to make a stop there and support this amazing project and people who is trying to make a difference.

We visited the centre only for one day. Wish we had more time but it was enough to see that Marion looks after these wonderful cats very well and they look happy in their natural decorated enclosures. The little wild cat kittens and the servals were my favourite. Thank you for the great hospitality. Will come again soon.
