Lydney harbour is one of my favourite places! It’s small and although some of the boats are a bit unloved - it is well looked after and has amazing views of the river Severn! There’s also some picnic benches, interesting plaques and plenty of wild...More

This isn’t a harbour just a boat graveyard! Dirty and at the back of an industrial estate. Drove straight back out. Don’t bother!

We spent 2 hours visiting the harbour and walking along the sea wall. Parking was free although limited spaces so you may need to park before the harbour and walk down if its a busy day. The harbour is tucked away behind a trading estate...More

Interesting walk around a renovated harbour and locks: great views, boat graveyard: just a relaxing hour or two.

A really lovely old harbour with many beautiful walks nearby. Great views of river. Not a lot of boats. Lovely old boat sheds. Very unspoilt

The walk from the charming Forest of Dean heritage railway (and scruffy 'main line' railway) stations approximately follows an old railway route to Lydney harbour.... On a bright day this is extremely pleasing with stunning views without too much effort. However, when you arrive at...More

Visited on a brisk windy cold day. Found to be quite refreshing and very scenic on clear day as can see far and wide. The tide was out on this visit but would like to see it when the tide is in. There is limited...More

Good sized parking as it can get very busy. Great place to take your kids for a long walk and fresh air. Always kept very tidy.

Lydney docks were of great importance in the past from where much of the Welsh coal was exported from. Now a yacht marina with pleasant walks giving excellent views towards the Severn bridges and across to Purton where the Gloucester canal joins the river. Also...More
