The building that hosts the museum is quite enchanting. The collection of the museum is vast, rich and very interesting, however one of the drawbacks of the whole institute is that most of the information is not translated into other languages. Information in English were rare as well, but that is no reason to not visit and appreciate the museum's collection.

I went to the museum last year and the first surprise was the building - a beautiful former bank from the Romanian occupation period. Inside there were many things to see from prehistory to present, as for me antiquity was the most interesting period. I didn't know that Flavius Aetius ("The Last Roman) was born in the city of Durostorum and that he was of Scythian origin. The guide was really well prepared and explained a lot. We went to the Roman Tomb which is by far the most well-preserved piece of antiquity I've seen. The only problem with it is that opens only if it's booked in advance, but we had that scheduled one month before that. I'll definitely recommend it to every history enthusiast.
