You can find everything here - from toothpaste to pens to handicrafts to silk carpets. I found the prices to be fair without even bargaining too hard as I visited outside of peak season. Even if you do not wish to buy anything, it's worth...More

The Grand Bazar offers everything from Muslim millinery to authentic Iranian saffron. You will need to bargain hard, or better yet, have a Uigher buy on your behalf. I found all vendors I dealt with to be friendly and helpful.

More a market for the locals than a bazaar full of exotic things worth buying. Still worth a stroll through for the atmosphere and goods on show but not likely to lead purchases. The best shopping areas in Kashgar are in the renovated old town...More

Lots of stuff definitely geared towards locals. Worth a walk through it but did not offer much of anything that grabbed my attention.

Fashioned from the old city of Kashgar, this large enclave of authentic housing is still the heart of Uigher culture in Xinjiang. Lots of new 'old buildings' and refurbishments with modern Chinese tourism in mind, this is still a fascinating Bazaar full of mazes of...More

Okay, here is the deal: Do you **like** bazaars? If you *don't* then you will not like this bazaar. If you *do* enjoy bazaars-- the hustle, bustle, crowds, noise, chaos, etc, then you *will* enjoy this bazaar. Reading through some of the other reviews, I...More

While we were disappointed by the Grand Bazaar in Urumqi, this met our expectations. It is not a tourist trap for sure as this where locals shop but you can get your silk scarves, rugs, Uyghur dress here as well as Uyghur musical instruments, bulk...More

Wanna literally squeeze with local people? Need souvenirs with a bargain? Looking for something special? Feeling daring to eat with the locals shoulder to shoulder? This would be your place on any given Sunday. The busiest Sunday market place ever.

Went to Bazar but it was kind of disappointing. Couldnt find things of interest. The bazar basically serves locals only. There are v few shops for souveniers
