The Ramparts of Villefranche de Conflent are amazing. Built to withstand attacks from above the fortress has survived and shows the heritage value of the place. The contained town buildings are also fascinating. Worth the visit and have a meal afterwards. Great.

It takes a good 45-60 minutes to walk around the walls and up and down the steps. The worst and can be missed is up into Devils Tower. Flat shoes aren't necessary but preferred. The views from inside the walls are worth the walk. For...More

Really enjoyed following the trail around the ramparts that allowed for a good view of the surrounds and an ideal opportunity to escape the heat of theafternoon.

Just a fantastic (and cheap) experience for all ages (kids under 10 are free). A real medieval experience, walking the ramparts of this beautiful village. Highly recommended.

Not sure I would want to do this on a busy hot day in summer, but in mid October the ramparts were pretty quiet. Not being a French speaker I would have liked to have known a bit more about what I was looking at,...More

Located in a beautiful setting. Not too busy so able to walk along the quaint walkways and look in the souvenir shops. Would recommend a visit if in the area.
