If you want a stop-off on a long trip, this is a good location. Pretty medieval centre with the monastery and castle dominating. For the more sporty, climb up to the top of the hill and visit the ancient fortified monastery (still occupied). Word of advice, unless you want a full cardio workout, walk up via the 40 min nature walk (very pretty) and go down by the steep cobbled path.

We took a bus from Ortisei to Chiusa and walked the trail up to the Abbey. It had breathtaking views and was one of the highlights of our trip to the Dolomites. It is a working Abbey so some of the little churches are closed to the public but some you can view inside. It is a long walk up to the Abbey so bring water but the view is absolutely 100 percent worth it. We also packed some cheese and bread and some grapes for a little lunch and made it a fun excursion.

Well worth the steep climb up the steps to the Kloster Saben. Beautiful views of the town of Klausen and its stunning surrounding beauty (shame about the motorway on the other side of the valley) Easy to find the path from the village.

It is a very well kept monastery above the city of Chiusa. A nice little way goes up from the city, and after 25 minutes you will reach this beautiful monastery and church, which are worth a visit"

The Monastero Di Sabiona is a true monument for culture of south tyrol. It thrones over the town of Klausen and consists of several churches. It is worth to walk up all the way from the city center of Klausen and to see the various stations for praying.

È più faticosa la passeggiata (40 min.)o la via crucis?

La via Crucis a una discreta pendenza, comunque a parte l'età e la forma fisica è meglio fare all'andata la passeggiata e scendere per la via Crucis.
