Lovely stop between Montreal and Quebec City
Aug 2020
The Grondines windmill is a lovely stop on the scenic route between Montreal and Quebec City.

There is not much to do other than take in the view and bring a picnic to eat by the water.

Nice place to stretch your legs and snap a few pictures of the St. Lawrence River.

Nice location

Well located on the shores of the St. Lawrence River. Nicely maintained. We were not able to go inside but it was still a worthwhile stop.

Built in 1624
Jul 2018 • Couples
Site is beautiful as is the surrounding neighborhood. Unfortunately it was not open when we went so we did not see the exhibit but it was amazing to see as it was built in 1674 and is the first windmill built in Quebec. It functioned as a flour mill and a maritime signal.
