historical place & keep in good condition. overall environment is beautiful & big. ok for visit to know more earlier setup in PRC

This is the former site of the Central Executive Committee of the Chinese Soviet Republic, Hongjing Scenic Area. This is located in the eastern part of China, in Jiangxi Province. Here in November 0f 1931, Mao Zedong was elected as the President of the China Soviet Republic (aka, The Soviet Republic of China). The area is also famous for Mao excavation wells. I imagine that being high up in the mountains, it is a challenge to dig wells and find water. During our tour, we lowered a wooden bucket into a famous Red Well at Hongjing, hauled it up by pulling the rope, and drank some of the well-water out of wooden drinking glasses. We also toured this Revolutionary Site in Ruijin. The first CPC government which operated from here, governed over a 50,000 square kilometre area which was home to about 3,000,000 residents. From the tour of the buildings and premises, I get the impression that this was a prosperous society or at least the leadership group was.
