Sadly this interesting windmill was closed when we visited, for essential maintenance work. It is clearly visible from the road side.

Saxtead Green Windmill offers a view into a world long since departed. The exterior is a wonderful, and rare, example of a windmill architecture, but once inside you are transported into a world long since vanished.

Always wanted to visit this beauty of a windmill and was not disappointed. We chose a beautiful day as well and the Postmill is actually bigger than I expected. It has three floors in the roundhouse and three floors above that. It wasn't too expensive...More

Set in the middle of fields, this is an interesting survivor of an old industry. You need to be able to climb steep stairs to take advantage of the views. Some displays on its history and workings. No onsite parking. Small shop and friendly attendant....More

It stands proud by the side of the road, painted all in white. I did get in years ago and remember standing high in the cap on the fantail. Must go back again
