We hiked from camping Arolla to Lac Blue, which is a Level-3 hike of about 2 hours. As a destination on a hot summer day, Lac Bleu is great: Beautiful blue icy water and stunning view. Because the Lac can be reached from another side...More

About a 1 1/2 hour hike along a twisting trail from the Arolla Hotel. Have a cup of hot chocolate at the rustic cafe there at Lac Bleu.

It's a short trip, only a little hour from the road and you're up near the glaciers. Nice tables for pic-nic, cows all around and if you're brave enough, you can try to bathe !

A great place to see if you are coming to Switzerland - boy what a walk though. It is tough going for us urban dwellers!! Worth every metre and step. Once we've got our energy back, we'll return. 😅

After all those mountains and blue skies, it's a welcome break in the scenery to see this gorgeous glacial tarn. Many day trip visitors too.

This lake is beautiful and the landscape is amazing. If you feel like it, you can walk until la cabane des aiguilles rouges from there, which is a beautiful place too. I prefer the lac bleu in summer, it is more scenery.

Spectacular view! My wife and I snowshoed up here for a picnic by the lake. It was a 2km walk with a change in elevation of 300m. A moderate hike but worth it. I would like to return in the summer to compare but I'm...More

I`ve been there in the summer of 2009, and after a walk over the mountains, in the end we saw this beautiful and cold lake.

Lac Bleu is a short hike off the beaten track but well worth the up hill climb. The views are stunning surrounded by snow capped peaks and the setting one of tranquillity - great for a pic-nic or simply to chill out for an hour...More
