We visited Scilla on our way to Reggio C. First thing that catches your eye is this magnificent castle at the top of the rock emerging from the sea. It's a real landmark, dividing this cute town into two parts, the Chianaela fishing village and...More

Castle gives a nice viewpoint over the Strait of Messina. Make sure to venture down to the coastline (we went to the right hand side, where houses literally touch the sea) and stroll through the narrow but well maintained streets of this nice town.

The castle is not full of artefacts and needs a lot of money spending on it, but it is well worth a look . It is only 2 euros, it has fantastic views and is a nice break from a few hours on the beach

It was an ok castle to go into. over the years several earthquakes damaged it, but it was still good to go. You should go if you stay in Scilla.
