If around Shirahama, this is also one of the highlight for visits. I just marvelled at human engineering how they were able to figure how to build an elevator to reach the cave under ground.

Loved this place. Felt very much like an American roadside attraction in its presentation and style, but it was worth the money. The cave is impressive, and the water rushing in is pretty cool. I really enjoyed the shrine area with the Benzaiten statue, even...More

I really liked this place! It's beautiful and you have an incredible view. It's a bike trip from the main beach and worth a visit.

The visit to this rock cliff cannot be without the trip down to the cave. Which is why this attraction charges so expensively for the short journey down via a lift to the cave carved out by the ocean and tectonic forces. 1300 yen per...More

This attraction covers two parts. First, you can just visit the cliff and enjoy the view, and to take some photos for free. Second, you can choose to pay to go 30-40M down and visit the cave. Inside the cave, there is a shrine, a...More

We visited the Sandambeki Rock Cliff just adjacent to the 千疊敷 attraction in Shirahama. A ticket needs to be purchased, and it is quite expensive- cost 1300 yen per adult (650 yen for children) due to the fact that the manufacturing for the 2 lifts...More

Sandanbeki consists of three steep cliffs with a large network of caves at the water level. An elevator is talken down to the caves, which has a shrine inside and a network of tunnels.
