My friend sent me here to see Fukuroda Falls, which is beautiful. There's a covered pavilion where you can sit and contemplate the falls. People were painting, photographing, and generally enjoying life while taking in the falls, which was also beautiful. While I'd anticipated a...More

We spent a day at Fukuroda Falls, walking the trails, going over the tension bridge and enjoyed being in touch with nature. After we'd made our way to the top, via the elevator located inside the tunnels, we enjoyed the views and looked out from...More

We visited at night as it's got a special light-up from Dec 28 to Jan 1, in addition to its regular light up in Fall. It's nice though a bit adventurous for us as we hadn't visited it during daytime. We visited it again the...More

(Nov2016) The actual waterfall is OK. Sufficient volume of water falling to be pleasing to look at. We went there in late autumn to try to see autumn colours (red leaf), but turns out this is not really a good place to see large expanses...More

It was the best time of fall colors when I visited there. There were a lot of people even it was on weekday. It is not free to see waterfalls. After you purchase a ticke, you will walk through tunnels to see waterfalls. There were...More

We like to come here every once in a while. The view always varies...according to season! Fall is popular so if you go then...go early or risk getting stuck in traffic along the way! I don't know if it's true or not. The Japanese tend...More

We came there in July, the waterfall was not as large as it can be, but still it is a nice view. You walk through tunnels to the most optimal view of the falls. Of course there are some shops and some restaurants for the...More

We visited these falls at the end of August and they were pumping, it starts off with a stroll down a quiet street in the Daigo-Machi area where there's some souvenir shops, you then walk up a steep little street and pay at the entrance...More

My boyfriend and I have visited this in August and there was not plenty of water falling. I highly recommend this place in spring time because it's full of water and you can see all the Sakuras blooming!!

Take a train to Mito and change there for a local train to Fukuroda. That's about three hours.
