Lessons from Hakuba snow school followed by runs down the green slope. The top of the slope after you come off the lift is steeper than the rest but a good green slope for beginners

We enjoyed skiing here, as there are many options for a beginner skier, and the tree runs were so cool. The lifts are efficient, and the staff friendly. During the week, it was very quiet with few skiers and minimal waiting in lines in get...More

Good powder, a range of runs that will test all levels and a laid back vibe. Hakuba is easily accessible from Tokyo (by train and bus from Nagano).

It seems the Hakuba area is made up of a number of different small ski resorts none of which are interconnected. The snow quality is great but the terrain is not like the larger ski resorts in Europe or the US

The gondola from Escal Plaza took us right to the top where we spent the day skiing/snow boarding on some fairly easy runs. 360 degree views of incredible mountains and you could see right down to the valley below.
