Unlike some of those who reviewed this crossing, I had no major delays either entering or leaving Panama. Be sure you have proof of departure from Central America for the Panamanian customs. The same (poorly marked) small building holds customs for both entering and leaving...More

Went for a drive here to see the border. Currently (January 2018) there is a large amount of construction happening here. They are putting a new bridge in place and although you can still cross the border the old bridge is not open for business....More

This was exciting. Getting to walk across the boarder and see the old bridge. It's cool. Customs in Panama was a little confusing, but manageable.

I'm not sure what you might expect from this, but trust me when I tell you it's nothing you'd want to set out to go see unless you needed to cross the boarder from Costa Rica to Panama....it's quite sketchy, dirty, and down right deplorable...More

Walking across the bridge is hot but fun. You can stand in the middle of the bridge and be on the line between Panama and Costa Rica. Avoid peak travel times or you will be in custom lines FOREVER

If there was another way to Bocas from Cahuita we would go that route! It's unorganized and definitely not streamlined. Confusing process and slow!

We started our crossing from the Panamanian side on a shuttle. We had been told that we would need proof of flight out of the country, our passport and 4usd pp to exit the country. Our driver watched our bags and directed us under the...More
