Really nice collection of different plants from around the world.

Amazing
Jun 2019 • Couples
We thought it may be worth a visit as we are garden enthusiasts but what a surprise this place turned out to be. The owners made us most welcome and even though we have a limited knowledge of Spanish we managed to understand quite a bit of the commentary and we're constantly saying "well I never knew that". There is a lot packed into a small area which has been remarkably well laid out with little quirky bits and ingenious ideas thrown in. You must see Pedros' hideaway (original mans cave) it's quite something.
All in all well worth the visit and we shall return later in the year to see different plants in flower.

Wonderful afternoon

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon guided tour. Exceeded our expectations. The lady is so friendly and welcoming. She's passionate about the garden and very informative - all in Spanish; as she explained she speaks the international language of plants. 🌵🎍

A dream becomes true

This morning we arrived unannounced in this extraordinary spot. Welcomed by the landlady she changed clothes and showed us around for more than two hours. The enormous collection of succulents, cactusses, yucca's, agaves, etc. etc. is amazing!! The passion and thrive of this couple to bring all these plants together is impressive and overwhelming. Though many plants were not flowering in August the lady showed us pictures of the flowers when they bloomed in other periods of time.
If you are interested in botanical gardens, especially in plants of arid regions, visit this place to know more of the diversity and richdom of these, often rare, species!! You will not be disappointed, on the contrarary, you will be surprised by the passion of these two people, who brought this all together!!

Amazing Day in Paradise
Aug 2018 • Solo
I've visited botanic gardens all over the world. El Sueno isn't the largest, but it is very impressive. It's operated by some of the most friendly and passionate people you'll meet. I had an afternoon in Ondara waiting while my papi was having hospital treatment. I googled and found the garden and walked 10 mins from the centre of town. They welcomed me in despite me not having an appointment and I had a truly delightful time. My Spanish is limited but the tour (in Spanish) was mainly deciperable for me and I was engaged throughout and learned a ton. My guide Luchia (Spelling?) was welcoming and warm. She explained things in a way I would understand and I truly appreciated her knowledge and patience.
I took a gazillion photos and was able to try some of the exotic fruits in the garden. A really memorable experience. These guys go above and beyond to make your day.

Wonderful Botanic Garden
Jun 2018 • Couples
Visited one morning in June and were the only visitors there. Was greeted by the very knowledgeable lady owner and had a private 2 hour tour of the amazingly diverse collection, which is segregated into cacti, succulents, roses, fruit, flowers, vegetables, etc. The variety of plants and planting schemes are simply brilliant - many were flowering, the scents and tastes of some of the cacti blossoms were incredible. So many great specimens in a small area - garden probably only 5000 square metres so could be walked around in 30 minutes. Well worth getting the commentary from the owner and taking a couple of hours. Bought loads of plant for our own garden!

Wonderful well organised botanical garden
Jun 2018 • Couples
High class explanation (Spanish - but clear) about all the aspects of the garden, the different sections: cacti, exotics, fruits, trees with spines…., all told with passion. The garden itself is very well laid out, lots of space between the different species, information about blossoming, flowers, propagation. Nice tour that last for 2 hours, small interval for some cold water. Best of gardens I visited!

Lovely display

Must agree with the other posts here from a reluctant gardener, my partner wanted to visit this place and I am glad I did. Wonderful collection of exotic cacti, suculants and other plants, very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable couple that run the place, and to top it all we bought some plants to take back to our garden.
I am a non Spanish speaker and all in Spanish (as you would expect) but I managed to pick up a lot of what was said as we toured the garden for nearly 2 hours. Well worth a trip out there

The owners of this garden are dedicated to their plant collection, largely cacti and euphorbia, which are displayed in attractive well ordered beds.

A work of love and dedication
Apr 2018 • Couples
Hidden away a bit and hard to find, you eventually find a gated driveway to what just looks like a house with a large garden . Ring the bell and they will let you in. Whereupon you will be taken for a guided tour of all the plants (Cacti, succulents, tropical and others) which takes about 1.5 hours. It was in Spanish but I managed to pick up some of it. The place is immaculate, with an incredible number of plants. The very friendly owner/manager is obviously extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about them all. The plants bloom at different times of the year so return visits, especially from May to August, might be required to make the most of the amazing blossoms. Cost E9 per adult, worth it for the care and hard work that is evident everywhere.
