Visited the reservoir with family and a couple of dogs. There are lovely walks around the reservoir and the park at the entry kept the kids busy. Lovely weather, good amenities and a great day out!

The visitor centre at the dam has a clean and ample car park with visitors toilet block which is also kept in good order. I have always arrived late when no staff are around but the toilets are still open and well lit. The views...More

Just left Derwent reservoir after a fab couple of hours. Needed a stretch of legs before long journey home so stopped for a dog walk. Everything is well thought out with a secure field especially for dogs off lead. The walk is beautiful and we...More

Ideal for those who like the wilderness as it's very bleak. Rather pretty in the summer but prone to being windy. Often used by the RAF for low level flights.

Lovely area around the Derwent reservoir. It’s set in the stunning northern country side between Consett and Corbridge off the A68. There are nice sheltered picnic areas and fabulous walkers trails all around. The thing I find charming about this and the nearby villages of...More

Beautiful place for long walks, the new kids park is brilliant. Clean and tidy and parking prices are reasonable.

Went here for a random look out with the family. There is now a wood structured kids play area here next to entrance. The reservoir further up is also a nice looking walk. Fishing and sailing can also be done here.

The reservoir offers opportunities to do some lovely walks in the area, and possibly spot the red squirrels still resident there. The paths are well defined, and you can soon lose the crowds. Parking is free of charge, and there is a cafe (which can...More

The actual waterside path does not go all the way around you would need to come off the waterside and walk the country lanes. We walked it and it took around 4 hours.
