My partner was telling me about these as they live not to far from the Terris novalis and I didn't quite believe her on how big they were and waaaw they are amazing to look at so much detail in every leg and a nice walk with the family :)

Something different
Sep 2019
Was staying in the area and thought it was worth a visit. Something very different and well made. Didn’t stay long as it was cold and windy up on the hill

Great addition to the area!
Dec 2018
A great addition to the area in my opinion.
Located in an area ideal for walking dogs, or to have a jog.
Always enjoy passing by and have been known to take a picture or two!

On a walk
Jul 2019 • Solo
I've passed these hundreds of times by road but the other day decided to have a walk upto them, they are very large an impressive, situated on a old railway line now a footpath. I assume they are a reference to the former steel works which once stood near by. Will need to read up and report back.

A brilliant sculpture of a theodolite
Sep 2018 • Friends
First time I had seen this on the cycle track, it takes your breathe away. A great bit of sculpture. After reading up on the reason it is there it is sad that it marks the demise of local industry. Well worth a visit.

Day trip

Disappointing and expensive monument to the sad pit closures. Needs more than this to breathe life back into Consett.

Canny sculpture
Jul 2018 • Solo
Been past this literally thousands of time, its probably the main landmark in Consett now.

Its also a good place for local youths to hang around, smoke cannabis and break glass bottles.

STRIKING
May 2018 • Couples
Two commanding and realistic pieces of sculpture close to the centre of Consett and yet offering striking views across the North Pennines. Plenty of fast food and other refreshment outlets nearby for those enjoying the C2C cycle route that passes these artworks.

nice to see
May 2018 • Family
The art work is nice to see and a fitting piece for where it is, it is part of the history of Consett. There are other things around the town showing its steel works history which are also nice to see, you will findConsett is in a beautiful part of the country, there are many lovely walks all around the out lying area. It is not how most people envisage an old steel town to be.
