A long way to drive but we'll worth the journey. A fantastic course with amazing scenery. No two holes the same and all the 4 par 3's point to the 4 points of the compass. If you plan your trip right you can see oyster catchers or arctic turns nesting. Beware the turns a very protective of their space. The greens are true and fast and the few cows and sheep are kept off the greens with electric fence. The club house views are stunning and the food is excellent.

This is like a step back in time to a simpler world. The golf course is a few mown ribbons of fairway and some carefully sited greens, all grazed down by sheep and friendly cows.

We played it on a very gentle day with broken cloud and light winds - I imagine it could be very different if the wind blew. If you don't mind stepping over the electric fences around the greens, go for it and enjoy your day.

A natural links course with fantastic greens and fairways. Sheep and cattle wander across the fairways on occasions making an unusual addition to this superb course. Views are spectacular with miles of beach with a background of wonderful hills.

Good test of golf in spectacular scenery. Would return when I'm next in the area. Couldn't comment on the facilities as we didn't use them

Came here in 2014 with my brother and absolutely loved it. It was the first British links course I had player, and helped that I shot a 77. Gorgeous links, very fair, super interesting, HUGE value compared with Dornoch (which is gorgeous...and HARD). Love the sheep and coaws on the course...and can't understand why someone who reviewed it actually complained. There are few tourists, which made for a 3.25 hour round...and you can always play as a twosome is traveling with just one other person. I love this course -- it's fair, beautifully conditioned, fun ... verything golf shoudl be. No one runs to your vcar to take your bag (and tip), no pomp and circumstance before teeing off... just golf as God meant it to be.
Toptday I played with my other Brother, Joe, and we loved it all the more. Come to this area, play Brora and Dornoh (and Tain is fun, too), then go to Fraserburgh and Cruden. Avoid St. Andrew's/Carnoustie and the 5-hour rounds, too many tourists, etc.
Coming back here with my wonderful wife someday soon...just a sublimely beautiful place with WONDERFUL people!!!!

The Brora golf course natural links golf. Don't be put off by the sheep and cattle on the course or the (charged) electric wire around the greens. The course is terrific. One par 3 (#7?) was such a good/interesting hole we let a group play through so we could play it again!

Links Apartments, Brora. I had stayed at Links Apartments 8 years earlier when I played in The Carnegie Shield and there were no rooms available in Dornoch. The apartments are adjacent to the (wonderful) Brora Golf Course, a three minute walk to the pro shop and restaurant. The apartment was clean and looked out at the course, beach and sea. The reception desk at The Royal Marine Hotel where you check into the apartments was helpful and friendly. While the guys golfed the ladies walked the beach and visited Dunrobin Castle. I would return again without hesitation.

I stayed 4 nights in the area and played here very afternoon. After 4 p.m. I was practically the only person on the course. Lots of hills bumps and swales and a few blind tee shots. Course was in excellent shape, staff were helpful, and sheep and cows watched me tee off. Unforgettable! Royal Dornoch down the road is beautiful as well, maybe a bit more variety, definitely more challenging, but also busier and much more expensive. Pound for pound it's hard to beat Brora for beauty and enjoyment.
