As part of the south downs way it is a stunning walk, you are likely to see rabbits, different types of butterfly, I usually see the small heath and the chalkhill blue, lots of hedgerow birds and you occasionally see birds of prey! Just don't...More

Walked this following a cancelled endurance event. I walked 60ish km from queens country park to the Botolphs (spelling?). It's gorgeous and the views and worth the walk. It's rocky terrain so make sure you come prepared with padded shoes and stuff for blisters.

We walked along the South Downs Way from Upper Beeding to Devils Dyke and return. It was wonderful way to enjoy the national park and views from the top of these hills, looking across to Brighton and the coast and also inland.

My two former work colleagues and I finally got to walk the South Downs Way after five years of walking together twice a year. We had 'saved' it for our older years thinking it would be quite gentle?! Well it is not quite as flat...More

Assuming you're after how long each day's walk will be, it's hard to say without knowing your fitness level. If you walk distance regularly and are reasonably fit then 3 miles an hour would be about average which means 8 - 9... More

Assuming you're talking about the full SDW then depending on where you get the info from it's between 100 and 109 miles. Some people mountain bike it in a day but unless you're super human I can't see you walking it in that... More
