I was staying in Goathland and needed something to eat so I popped in. It wasn't too busy so I was served quickly. Mac&cheese was perfectly acceptable. It's just another country pub, if you take away the Heartbeat connection there's no real reason to visit

Went to Goathland due to interest in the TV show Heartbeat. Decided to have lunch in the Goathland Hotel. Both of us had the Yorkshire Pudding and roast beef. The meal was very disappointing and, looked and tasted very dry like it was precooked and...More

Not really sure what all the negative comments are for. I and the rest of my party all enjoyed our food and the beer was fine. I think too many people want Michelin star food at Weatherspoon prices. Grumpy Grandad and I had the black...More

This is also known as the Aidensfield Arms in Heartbeat. We stopped here for a drink on the way home. The inside of the bar looks like it is on the show. We always come here for a drink on our way home from Whitby....More

Perfect, see my other review of the Hotel. Cannot fault it. We stayed for three nights. Perfect base for Heartbeat fans and anyone who has posted negative, clearly did not experience what we did or failed to grasp what this Hotel is about. The staff...More

After the last awful experience we thought we would visit again to see if there was any improvement, and we left disappointed, hungry and thirsty. We walked into the ‘family’ rooms as children aren’t allowed in the bar which is a stupid idea. The family...More

Made the trip especially to Goathland to visit here. Nice traditional style pub and fast service (it was quite busy too) and the quality of the food was good but the portion size was terrible for the price. We ordered 2 lots of sausages and...More

There really is nothing to recommend the hotel and with some excellent B&B's in Whitby, I would certainly give Goathland a miss.
