Very nice trip, great train ride and trail. But the station talk with the volunteer station master was very long and didn’t answer any questions raised

Thank you for your review, we're pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit to Goathland Station. Obviously the people standing on the footbridge weren't old enough to remember that that's not a good place to stand when a steam train comes in.

The station really nice as a really nice cafe and small shop, Just needs the toilets cleaning as the gents really smell.

Set for many period films and TV dramas the railway station is the central point on the historic North York moors steam railway. Great for youngsters and steam engine buffs.

Boarded the 10.00 am steam train from Whitby to Goathland after having a great chat with Fergus at the station. On board a lovely man called Michael came and patiently told us about the trains, very informative and a great morning out!!

Thank you for a lovely review. I'm not sure about the reference to Casualty - I'll have to check that one. We will look forward to welcoming you back next year.

You will all get onto the station easily and there is a coach and car park nearby. I don’t know about the cafe booking

Hi Can you let me know if I can book a short steam train journey from Goathland to Whitby Bay? If so, how much will it cost and can we get a return ticket? It's for a special occasion for my mum who has never been to Whitby bay before or on a steam train so I thought for a fantastic day out, we could spend a short amount of time of steam train to Whitby bay and then spend most of our day at Whitby bay, then at around 5pm get the steam train back from Whitby bay to Goathland train station where we can collect our car and drive home back to Manchester. We want to experience the steam train but not spend the majority of our day on it because the main highlight for mum will be spent at Whitby bay and we only have 1 day to do this which is Sat 2 June mum's birthday. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks Scott
