This is a wonderful place. To see the glacier open up as you hike and being able to get on the glacier is great. Truly was one of the best hikes we ever did.

Imposing, gigantic, simply impressive. Actually difficult to describe the unique scenery of this area. You feel the cool, hear the cracking, though the glacier is melting at a fast pace.

Visited the Aletsch Arena in July (Summer) I can only imagine what this amazing place would look like in winter. I could sit here the whole day just looking at the amazing view in front of me. One can truly find serenity. Due to climate...More

This place is huge. Like, really bloody huge. I was on riederalp which is a part of the arena, and I lost the number of times I snuck out of the hotel to just...stare at view. According to our guide though, the snow levels have...More

Managed to get a great view from the Eggishorn viewpt. Wear sturdy shoes as it's a little rocky when walking around the area to get a close up view. Although it was foggy when we got up there, the clouds cleared for about 15mins and...More

Again we were lucky this time to see Aletsch Arena on top of Riederalp. The views were wonderful. Not many visitors found at sight because we were early at arrival. As such, we have time to go along the trek to take photos from different...More

A wonder of nature. So beautiful, so in danger of disappearing - it's already down to half its original size.

Not an adjective I use very often, but it's the only way to describe the fabulous glacier views from the top of the Riederalp and Moosfluh cable cars. The ridge walk to the Villa Cassell is a constant but gentle decline across what feels like...More

The glacier itself is beautiful but we had to risk our life because of the guide called Bruno we hired from Aletscharena AG (aletscharena.ch). I've hiked on a couple of glaciers without a guide before but never did without crampons (mandatory equipment for safety), and...More

Dear Mrs. Lee, Sorry to hear that your glacier experience at the Aletsch Arena didn’t work out as expected. We discussed the situation with our professional mountain guide centre “Bergsteigerzentrum Aletsch”, that organizes all our tours on the Aletsch Glacier from Fiesch/the Fiescheralp. They did...More

Amazing views, good lift system, good runs. Links along the length of the area are awkward, not many mountain restaurants
