We have just enjoyed 4 hours of pleasure on the estuary at Appledore. Grandad, Mom, Dad and Grandaughter all experiencing a traditional local fishing boat under sail and engine. Knowlegable, experienced skipper Nikki was the perfect host. Highly reccommended.

Aw! Thank you for the lovely review. So very glad you enjoyed it. It was a perfct day and perfect company - just a pity so little wind.Hopefully I'll take you out on Patron next year.
Despite no sun and no wind, Niki sailed us around Appledore on Jey-Zee-Belle and we had a jolly time. As our skipper she was very knowledgeable about the area as well as sailing and happy for us to have a go at helming while taking...More

This was our first visit to delightful Appledore and Appledore Sails beckoned wherever we looked.
We booked a 3 hour trip for Friday 13th, deciding to end our week's visit with our first ever sailing experience.

We had an amazing three hour sail around the Torridge and Taw estuary on the Jez-e-bellle, a traditional Appledore built lugger. Niki Tait, the owner, was absolutely lovely and extremely knowledgeable about both the difficult waters we were sailing and the local history and coastline....More

If the dog is fairly passive and well behaved then it is welcome on Jez-y-Belle but probably not for sailing as if a dog is not used to a boat, sailing can upset it. Motoring should be fine. You will need to keep the dog... More
If the dog is fairly passive and well behaved then it is welcome on Jez-y-Belle but probably not for sailing as if a dog is not used to a boat, sailing can upset it. Motoring should be fine. You will need to keep the dog on a lead and under control and it will need to wear a lifejacket - as much for a grab handle to get it back on board if it jumps over. I am sorry but Patron, my sea going yacht is not suitable for dogs.
