This is supposedly a tour to see marine wildlife from Órganos. It is a total waste of money and I saw more wildlife better from the shore. The boat took us out to the gas platform a couple of kilometres offshore where we saw 10 sea lions sitting on the steps. Then we came back to Órganos and “swam with turtles” in the bay, the only problem being that there were no turtles for the first 30 minutes where we anchored as they hang around the fisherman’s wharf. Eventually one turned up, but 40 plus can easily be seen at the pier. The “guide” sat in the cabin on her phone and did not point out anything or provide any information. I have done several of these trips over the years with other companies and this was the worst boat tour I have ever been on. Total rip-off for the cost, go with another company or walk on the beach and go to a beach restaurant as you will see more wildlife.

Booked via Whats App. Very quick response. The guides are actively involved with conservation efforts for the Humpback whales and turtles. The guide was a Marine biologist and the other an engineer. Great and bilingual. We saw two groups of whales, one was very active, we saw one breach and several dives. Recommended with this group definitely.

We did the trip to see the whale close to los Órganos and had a really good time. Costs 10-20 soles more than the competition but their boot is bigger, better, faster, more secure and their team is professional, worth the money!

We had this tour with our two little boys (5 and 7 years old).
The guides were marine biologist, they were always taking care on the environment.
The yatch was very nice it included some snacks during the trip, we felt very safe and comfortable.

We went whale watching in the middle of October. Everything was super professional. Driver picked us up from the hotel and took us to the pier. Boat was big enough that I would feel safe the whole time. We even got a little snacks on our was back. Very, very good.

So i believe that this is one of the most professional companies offering the whale watching tours in Mancora/Organos. We have been picked up in the morning from our hotel and taken to the pier where giant sea turtles just float around pretty much everywhere you look. From there, on a little boat, we were taken to our proper whale watching vessel. Other boats that we have seen on the tour were very small and much less comfortable - more like local fishermens boats. I am sure the guests on them were served lunch like we were either. Worth it :)

I had an amazing experience with Oceanica Expeditions and saw several whales and a pod of hundreds of dolphins. The staff were all very helpful and knowledgeable about the animals, environment, and history of the area - several were biologists who also collected information for their research on the marine life. I learned a lot from them as they explained more about the whales and their behaviour, and it was easy to understand because the staff members speak both Spanish and English. The captain follows international best practices when it comes to boating near wildlife - they give them space so the whales don’t feel like they’re being chased.

I originally booked tickets to go out on the boat for two days. The captain recognized me on my second day out, and was extremely kind and invited me to come for a third day for free! I saw different things on the boat each day, and if you have time, I’d definitely recommend going out for more than one day too!

Another highlight was swimming with the sea turtles at the end of the tour. You aren’t supposed to touch the turtles because it can make them sick, but they’re very curious and will swim up close to you. Bring goggles to see them better underwater. And if you’re not a strong swimmer, they have life jackets you can wear too.

The boat is a lot bigger than those of the other tour companies, and is probably better for people who get seasick easily or need access to a bathroom.

They sent a taxi to pick me up outside my hotel in Mancora every morning. This was great because the boat leaves very early in the morning, and there are a lot less taxis on the road at this time.

Quite an experience!! Being my first time watching whales, I must say that I feel very lucky to have witnessed 4 breaches up close (within 40 yards).
The staff and captain were veeeery friendly, I do have to say. But I did expect a bit more out of the "lunch" (small tuna and mayo sandwich, a beer and some banana chips). Oh, and regarding the price options, forget about booking the semi-vip tour, there was no difference whatsoever between that one and the normal/basic option.

Recently we took a trip with 10 friends (5 couples) and straight from the beginning the captain (Gonzalo) and his staff were great and super considerate with everyone including people prone to sea sickness.
If that’s your case then take “gravol” 30 minutes before the trip, they sell it over the counter in any local pharmacy and it’s best to go early in the morning (7am) less movement.
There is a VIP area which I strongly recommend, it’s $100, but trust me it’s well worth the money for what you get, they give you gourmet dips and drinks (artisanal beer).
The journey begins heading west and soon you see humpback whales, we followed them for a mile or so and we even saw one jump a couple times. We were very unfortunate since we saw a whale wrapped in a fishing net, the crew jumped in the ocean to cut the ropes, but it got away. After that we arrived at an abandoned station in the middle of the sea (we don’t get to go down) where you can se many birds and the marine biologist explained about all of them.
Later we got to swim with sea-turtles and they provided special diving masks, it was amazing.

Hope to see you again Gonzalo and crew, we had a wonderful time.
