We enjoyed our walk around this town. The colours and the paintings are wonderful. Very vibrant. However it is a bit of a tourist trap. It doesn’t really feel like a local town. Everything is expensive compared to other towns and it is definitely set...More

I see many reviews for the town of Guatape, but thought that this attraction/area was specifically referring to the Dam/reservoir area. We visited last fall with a group tour taking a day trip from Medellin to Guatape. After a long day of touring, it was...More

Hey, this review is for the whole town of Guatape. It’s an awful tourist-trap with no soul. All the colorful houses are just painted to lure some tourist in. Every place tries to sell you worthless junk or overpriced food. Seriously, there is literally nothing...More

Lovely street with artist studio and colorful buildings. The fountain is pretty but nothing spectacular like in France, just a small 4 figured fountain. Up the street is an artist studio with some very nice art. Friendly area and great for strolling around looking for...More

If you have time while you’re in Medellin, a visit to this delightful village is a must. Colourful walls with bas-relief depictions on every building makes this place a photographer’s paradise. There are plenty of eateries overlooking the dam and nearby boat trips available. Also...More

The village is very colorful and is mostly consists of stores and vendors to attract tourists, but there is a reason behind it. The village suffered a lot in the past, its slowly gaining ground as top attraction of Colombia.
