Lunch on a high

The setting, and the whole set-up, is amazing and the food is really very good, washed down with a nice glass of wine.

A hidden little gem!

Beautiful tranquil setting. Makes you want to spend hours there. Tasting went very well. The owner popped by for a chat which was great. I will return for the food. The wine speaks for itself and the olives and olive oil is great. Unfortunately their Madame Lucy MCC is not available for tasting, having tried it before, I left with a few bottles.

Lovely wine tasting and informative and interesting winemaker present
Dec 2020
Lovely setting reminiscent of Italy, perched high on a hill overlooking vines and olive tress.
We got the full experience with the history and thought process behind the winery directly from the winemaker.
The tasting area overlooks a lovely grassed courtyard and the complimentary bread and olive oil was an added bonus.
Wines were interesting and enjoyable as the winemaker appears to be trying some experimental ways of producing wines.
Worth pulling over off the N2.

Pleasantly surprised

WINE TASTING - Two options R 150 and R 60 per head. Premier wines and standard wines. They then waive tasting cost per individual against the purchase of each bottle of wine. Top end wines about R 375. Standard a lot cheaper. TIP - If you are two people, try get one type of tasting each and share, then you get to taste both lots.
FOOD - the pork is a MUST. Simply amazing. Would go there just for the pork when I am next in the area.
Hidden gem. Well manicured gardens.

What a gem find!
We live in Hermanus and never come this way, but decided to try out Gabby's.
The staff were very friendly. We met Peter the winemaker and his dog Charlie (Bohemian wired haired griffin).
The food was excellent and went well with the estates wines (Chenin and Syrah).
We will definitely be back with more friends.

Excellent service from friendly staff in a beautiful setting. Delicious food with only one small complaint that the kabeljou was a little overcooked and dry. Special place.

Bad Security
Aug 2019 • Couples
First visit to this venue which started off well. Live music was good as well as the range of food which was available, although a little on the pricey side for what is was. Unfortunately the night cane to a swift end when one of our group has her bag stolen. The usual items went missing, iPhone, purse, credit cards, money keys etc. The bag was over her shoulder and was cut off. We were the second group to have a bag stolen. This is a busy venue and a perfect venue for thieves to do what they do best. Please be aware if you are attending this event. We thought that we had been diligent but it appears not!!!

Wine Tasting
Aug 2019 • Couples
The estate was spectacular with the Canola flowers in full bloom. It is a magnificent building with artistic inspiration all over.

We tasted three wines and bought bottles of all three. My favourite Rosé was on a Womens Month special. Awesome.

The tasting was well presented and explained. Would like to have lunch there in future.

Definitely recommend.

A lovely morning of wine tasting in the Botrivier valley ended disappointingly at Gabrielskloof. Being a big group they gave us a big inside room and served pre arranged platters. The room was freezing in spite of having a fireplace because they did not bother to make a fire. The food was very average and the wine tasting non existing. The waitress merely poured the wine and gave the name with no further information. We may as well have ordered a couple of bottles from the wine list. A beautiful venue was spoilt by a very average experience. There are much more interesting options in the valley.

Beautiful place, wines fall flat

Good and friendly service, but sadly the wines didn’t match the expectation created. Worth a visit but not a buy.
