Before I write these lines, I must acknowledge that I am not a wine expert. However, I do like to sample the local brands from wherever I visit. The area of Santa Brigida boasts a number of wine cellars and vineyards in its township. Tourists can visit these humble farms on the volcanic hillsides. The Wine Museum should be a focal point for these local brands. But we ended up having a Rivera del Duero wine from the mainland as the waiter could not come up with a local variety that appealed to our party. Having said this, the food was well-prepared and satisfying with some local specialities (the new potatoes in hot mojo sauce, for example) and Spanish fare.

Visited the wine museum whilst staying in Las Palma's, nothing much to see, small room with some barrels and a gift shop where you can taste some wine, 1, euro 50 cents for a small glass. Wouldn't go out of the way to visit but Santa Brigade itself is very quaint and picturesque, well worth a visit.

Overall, disappointing visit. They had 3 wines available to taste. Person working there seemed unmotivated, lacking training and understanding of wine, except may be for some superficial knowledge. You basically had to insist a lot to get any type of information. This is not the way it should work. If the purpose of the place to promote Canarian wines and improve public awareness about them, they are miserably failing. Public funds spent to support establishing this place were wasted.

During the X-Mas days we spend a week at the Canary Islands. We visited the Wine House Museum. It was very disappointing. We expected a real museum (wine cellar, wine barrels, press, tools) and a decent story about making wine. Nothing of this all. Just a wall of 30 different wines which you could tast (a € 1,50 per glass).
