Good Start
Sep 2019 • Couples
A good place to gave a first look at the wines of Vaqueryas. Situated in the heart of the village it gives you a great opportunity to see what is on offer. Adjacent to Gigondas, Vacqueras wines can be just as good and often a little more reasonably priced than it’s neighbour.

Many excellent wines to sample
May 2019 • Couples
We had a tasting of wines at this Caveau while in Vacqueyras. The staff are friendly and very knowledgeable. There is a large selection of Crus from the Vacqueyras AOC. There is no sampling charge, and you can buy Whites, Roses and Reds from this region. Definitely recommend!

Good Way to Sample Local Wines
Nov 2018 • Friends
We stopped here on a wine tour. I have been to this area several times, but was not aware of this tasting room. There are many wines of Vacqueyras to try in an old building. You can also order wines from here and have them shipped home. This is a handy and easy way to try a variety of wines in one place.

Fab little place
Oct 2018 • Couples
This place is a little gem. Showcasing wines from around the area, we had a great tasting of 7 local wines from a fairly extensive list.

The guy didn't speak English and my French is poor, however we managed to communicate enough to understand.

Really enjoyable, would recommend.

Excellent!! Have your bottles shipped to the US!
May 2017 • Couples
My husband and I were visiting our daughter who was studying abroad in Aix-en-Provence and we went to Vacqueyras for an afternoon in May. We decided to stop at Caveau du Vacqueyras because we only had a couple hours to spend and thought it would be the best way to taste many different wines.
It really was a great visit where we got a tasting of whatever we wanted, from whites, rosés and reds. We even tasted Muscat de Beaumes de Venise (so delicious). The welcome was warm and the education on the wines and the region was wonderful. I learned a lot!
We ended up ordering three cases that we had shipped to the US. Although importing the wine is quite expensive, you are getting the same bottles you tried and they come with the wonderful memory of your visit. The selection of Vacqueyras in the US is quite limited, so we are very happy to enjoy what we loved in Vacqueyras here in our home in New Jersey.
Laura and her dad were so welcoming, passionate and knowledgeable; we had a wonderful dégustation! We will continue to order Vacqueyras from Le Caveau and will have them shipped to us in the US. It was that easy!
Thank you again!

Wedding wine visit
May 2017 • Friends
Lovely little wine shop holding some of the best reds I've ever tasted. The woman serving us was helpful and really friendly and gave us 4 wines within the bride's price limit to try. The wines here start from around 10 euros per bottle. We were kindly given a 10percent discount because the amount we ordered, taking it down to about 9euros per bottle.
Defo worth a visit!

THE PLACE to go to taste and buy the best WINES of Vacqueyras!
Oct 2015 • Couples
Making it to all the vineyards in Vacqueyras for tastings would take a few days and surely disrupt more than a few hard-working winemakers but YES(!) you can taste the best Vacqueyras has to offer and it can be done with just one stop at the charming Caveau du Vacqueyras in the heart of this little wine village.

We were returning from Barolo with a car full of nebbiolo and had only a few hours to stop for some Gigondas and Vacqueryas. Short on time, we were thrilled to find this caveau that had opened since our last visit. Do remember to turn off the main road towards the Mairie (Mayor) and wind around to this little stone Caveau across from the town bar and massive trees but DO NOT get it mixed up with the large modern building on the main road "Les vignerons du Character" (which is a glorified gift shop with no character, selling only a few brands of wine which are not great.) We made this mistake several times before finding the much more authentic Caveau du Vacqueryas and it's lovely owner Laura, who decided to get back to her family roots and open this cave. Her grandparents were in the wine business in Vacqueyras years ago.

Laura is knowledgeable and a very helpful young woman and knows the nuances of every different wine from all the many winemakers in Vacqueyras. She and her staff can help point you to wines just perfect for your particular palate. She is a pleasure to buy from with her great knowledge but also because of her incredible prices which are the same as you get if visiting and buying directly from the vineyards.

And please do buy if you can (we want her to stay open!)... the tasting is free but remember you are there in Vacqueyras not just to enjoy this precious wine but to take some of it's incredible yummy-goodness home with you or on your travels at the very least. You'll pay a fraction of the cost that you would anywhere else in Europe or the states or even in other parts of France for Vacqueyras so stock up and store this nectar for years to come. And do not forget the white wine of Vacqueryas --it too is divine! Laura and staff can help ship it home for you if needed. We're thrilled to have found this cave in one of our favorite wine villages and we will be back to add new years to our collection in the future. Bonne chance Laura et Merci beaucoup!

Extensive choice of most of the best producers in the area.
Sep 2015 • Couples
The young girl in the shop could not have been more helpful or knowledgeable. You can taste any of the wines they have in stock for free, which includes most of the producers in my Hugh Johnson wine guide. The prices are the same here as they are at the cellars of each producer, so you don't have to visit each one.
