Had a little walk through the park, I grew up in New Brighton and Vale Park brings back memories. The local artist who lives in the old park keeper house has made the park like an open air art gallery - brilliant brilliant stuff
Vale Park has always been a really nice park with the bandstand in the middle and a play area for children. Joytime is held there in the better weather which is great for families. My husband still fondly recalls winning Joytime run by Aunty Dorothy,...More
I great old fashioned park with swings for the kids, local wildlife and easy access to the prom. The park boast a well priced cafe and a bandstand. The bandstand hosts an event most weekends in the summer.
I can write with some authority about Vale Park because for 35 years we lived right next door to it; in fact, a gate in our fence gave direct access to it.
Over the years, the park has developed into a lovely area for both...More

I told my fiancée we would go take the kids to a fairy park, she laughed as she thought it would be a load of cheap fairy doors stuck to trees, we arrived at the park to loud authentic music coming from a bandstand located...More

Its a lovely small park and the fairy land has built up over a few years. People bring a fairy, ornament or whatever and it just builds up informally. A local public spirited man keeps an eye on everything to keep it safe and tidy and weed out anything damaged by the weather. There is a safe play area, a nice cafe and though dogs are allowed the owners generally keep it clean. If the weather is good walk up the prom or along the beach to New Brighton. This is a low key seaside but lots of place for a snack and Fort Perch Rock to explore cheaply. The beach is cleaned by the tides and the River Mersey is no longer polluted and there is lots of shipping to watch at high tide.
