A Beautiful Lighthouse on the beach.
New Brighton Beach, in the north-east corner of the Wirral Peninsul offers an attractive 3/4-mile stretch of golden sand.  In the summer months it is a popular destination for day-trippers.
From the beach there are striking views over the Liverpool city skyline.  The beach is a good place to watch ships sailing out from the mouth of the Mersey estuary into the Irish Sea.
Beyond the marine lake is the 19th century Grade II listed Perch Rock Fort, once part of the sea-defences system. Beyond the fort is the picturesque Perch Rock lighthouse.

Regular to this place. Will stop when parking charges are introduced, shame as we do spend money here.

Probably one of the most photographed light houses in the north west but couldn't resist it, got there for six in the morning and twenty minutes later was greeted with a beautiful sunrise.

One of the major landmarks in New Brighton is New Brighton Lighthouse, alternatively known as Perch Rock Lighthouse or Black Rock Lighthouse it was constructed by 1830 and until its closure in 1973 served as a beacon of light at the confluence of Liverpool Bay and the River Mersey ,its a wonderful structure, my twin brother Stephen and I were heading to Marine Point Retail & Leisure Park along the promenade on a beautiful sunny, warm afternoon and the lighthouse looked amazing, it still amazes me how structures such as this were built in 1830 with the limited technology available at the time, its most definitely well worth checking out if you're planning to visit New Brighton.

We regularly have trip to New Brighton, its a 45 min drive through the Mersey Tunnels, we have some nice walks along the front as they say..
Its an OK place and if the tide is out you can get the Lighthouse with no difficulty.
The area - this area of New Brighton is well run down but you can still get the coffees, do some shopping and finally get those fish and chips while looking over to the Liverpool ports.

Its actually OK.

You can park along the front if FREE this year but we been told it will be chargeable soon, not an issue but for us we may still call here the odd time but will find a new venue.
I know many will comment over the fee for parking but as we properly spend £25 per visit here several times a month it will push our costs up a lot.
However its well worth a visit and enjoy those great walks on the front, need a few hours.
Pop in to the local coffee places and remember to get the fish and chips.

In operation since its construction in 1830 till its closure in 1973,New Brighton Lighthouse is one of the major landmark features of this pretty seaside resort.
Alternatively known as Perch Rock Lighthouse or Black Rock Lighthouse and sitting at the confluence of the River Mersey and Liverpool Bay area , its a wonderful piece of architecture, my twin brother Stephen and I were heading to The Seahorse Pub and passed the lighthouse on a beautiful warm and sunny afternoon, tide was low so you could really appreciated the full beauty of New Brighton's Lighthouse, very photogenic, makes for some great photographic opportunities and is easy to locate along the promenade of New Brighton.

The tide was low so there were many people on the shore and some people swimming.
