Visited while a huge group of schoolchildren and helpers were having some sort of musical event so I felt I was intruding and didn’t stay long. There were bottles of water, clothing and other items placed on ancient monuments and the place looked unloved and...More

A splendid combination of ruin and functioning church. A little off the beaten track compared to those minsters / cathedrals which are also popular tourist attractions, so I had this impressive historical and spiritual building all to myself. There is much of interest to see,...More

We were attracted to this church because its impressive tower can be clearly seen from the nearby motorway. It is a wonderful building, partially ruinous, but what remains is absolutely full of interest. This church was real joy to visit.

Half ruins. Set in the centre of Howden. Well kept. Parking alongside. The church was locked on our visit.

The Minster, both ruins and actual church, are charming to visit. It is the centre of a really pleasant and interesting old town centre.

The ruins are attached to the new Minster, the ruins are of the chancel and chapter house, you can only view them, you can't go in.

Visited Howden on a weekend away and came across this beautiful old Minster. The ruins are still amazing and full of character. The stained glass windows inside the church are beautiful and the graveyard surrounding it is very peaceful.
