Left my wife in the car as she had damaged her ankle and walked the dog from the car park to the Tarn. Absolute hidden gem of an area with ample, free car parking, superb views across the tarn, clear and easy to walk trails...More

Left my wife in the car to sleep as raining. But with full waterproofs on no problem. Interesting scenery including the nature reserve.

Excellent place for a walk or to simply spend some time contemplating. It is a short drive from Grassington or Malham and there is a car park conveniently located near the tarn.

As well as the beautiful scenery the wildlife in the area is worth looking at, especially the birds on the water and in the woods. A walk around the tarn is one of the flattest that you can do in the Dales.

Unusual lake high in the Dales. Gentle walk from road. Worth following the stream from the lake along the pennine way to see the water disappearing into the limestone ground.

The next stop in our 15 mile walk, we walked around the tarn, stopping to eat lunch at the side of the tarn. Not much wildlife around, but a good, popular walk.Well worth the visit.
