You can get here by driving on a dirt/mud road as there is a reasonable amount of parking or walk from the nearby Marriott-plex. Excellent waves with lots of locals surfing. A few surf "shops" are on the beach and we tried one for a...More

Do yourself a favor when you are in the Huacas/Tamarindo area. Follow the signs to Avellana beach, find Lola's and order something to eat. The food is pretty good and the seating under the plethora of Royal Palms is awesome.

Such a beautiful space for lunch and sunset. Good, clean, healthy food and smoothies. The fish tacos were a little bland but the fish and chips, pizzas, and ceviche was very good.

Glad we decided to visit this pretty beach located about 30 minutes from downtown Tamarindo. Shady areas if you wish to be out of the sun, great restaurant for lunch. Good surf location, popular area, but not overcrowded.

This beach was recommended by a local and was full of mostly locals. We were disappointed that the restaurant Lola’s was closed. Not sure if it was just for the day, the Season, or forever.. The surf was too big for our little boogie boards...More

Português abaixo Wonderful beach with an amazing sunset. To spend the day, I recommend you go to Lola’s place. Good surf Praia maravilhosa, boa pra surf, com um pôr do sol espetacular. Se for passar o dia, considere ficar no Lollas.

Went to this beach for surfing lessons. We got on the water early and it was not crowded. Very natural and a good vibe with the other surfers. Pura Vida!

Lola's is super chill. The best beach/surf/bar/restaurant/ hangout/people watch place I've seen. Plan to stay for hours - We had a car and parking was easy. We ate lunch, took our own beer and stayed at least 6 hours - surfed about half that time -...More

Not sure about the Zip line. There is not much at Playa Avelenas. The airport is about 1 hour 45 mins away, and the roads are not all paved into the beach area. I would definitely stop for groceries on the way in, to... More
