This lovely little church is a quaint village a couple of miles from Chateauneuf sur Loire. Consecrated in the early 9th century, it has tons of character & charm and the beautiful mosaic of the Arc of the Covenant is definitely worth seeing!

This tiny church contains a beautifully restored mosaic which is the main reason for the visit. It has its own tourist office right next door.

Thank You for your opinion. This mosaïc is datign back to the era of Charlemagne and was built around 806 by a closed advisor to the emperor, called Theodulf.

Such a small and unassuming building contains a really unique mosaic depicting the Ark of the Covenant from 130,000 tile pieces.

Thank You for your remark. Indeed this mosaic is unique as it is the only one dating back to Charlemagne's era conserved in France.
