We stumbled across this area by chance. We had chosen a place to stay for the night and decided to go out and explore. We found some great trails to walk and mountain bike and were fascinated by the eagles. We counted over 40 in the sky several times during our stay.

Rainy day, Imperial Eagle over the car about 30 metres up. What more can you say ! oh yea and great Bustards displaying. Fab. Concerned about the hunting though in these times of species loss.

One of my favourite areas in the South of Portugal. It can be terribly hot in the Summer, and everything is dry. I would recommend to visit during Spring or early Autumn. Be careful with the lynxes - sometimes they cross the road - and it is a protected species.
