Wonderful mode of transport. Very clean and regular ~ I use them all the time when I’m over. Would that the equivalent transport in the UK were a tenth as good.

We had never used the service before and the ticket machine was on board the tram but a lovely Spanish woman helped and we were on our way. The tram was very busy and I stood for a good time. There are a lot of...More

Well, once you’ve got over the hurdle of understanding how the ticketing/passes works, you’ll get to truly appreciate this mode of transport. The tram will get you from town to beach and back again in no time. You could even go as far as Benidorm...More

The train is clean and efficient and you rarely have to wait more than 5-10 mins for the next one to come along. Be warned it can get really busy during peak times.

We always take this service up to Altea when we travel to Alicante by train from the UK, the subway stations are clean as is the trams, always on time extremely cheap compared to taxi's, easy to access and goes all the way upto Denia.

Unlike trains back home these run on a tight timetable and are air conditioned seats a little uncomfortable on a long journey. Services run every 30 minutes to Benidorm bang on.

If you're visiting Alicante, I highly recommend taking the tram to check out La Playa de San Juan. It's definitely far nicer and cleaner than El Postiguet.

The whole trip takes just over and hour and I think the cost was €6 each.
