It was a well-guided trip in a glacier at 10000ft Above Mean Sea Level. The guide was very knowledgable and engaged everybody. Not everyone's "must-see" but very interesting and may not be around in the near future.

We accidentally came across this glacier experience on instagram whilst searching things to do in Hintertux! The tour is definitely worth experiencing - we had never been inside a glacier before, and from what we understand there's not many glaciers you can explore from within....More

Would not have missed the opportunity to see this. I can believe how many negative comments on trip regarding this. It is not expensive at all. Wear sturdy shoes with a good grip, you are on a glacier, dress appropriately. Also wear gloves, again you...More

In 2007, a hiker called Roman found a 10cm-wide fissure on top of the Hintertux glacier and - being a complete legend - climbed down into it and discovered a network of ice caves. Since then, he has almost single-handedly turned them into a rather...More

The ice caves themselves are fairly interesting, but as is evident in many of the reviews below, management needs to improve the level of the guide(s), which ruins the whole experience. I've traveled around the world, and we had the worst guide ever - totally...More

I went with my family to the Hintertuxer Gletcher in late September. Once we were at the top of the mountain, the views were breathtaking. We signed up for the glacier tour, and while we waited, we were able to tube down a small slope...More

The views at the top of the glacier were beautiful and definitely worth seeing but do not pay for a guided tour of the ice palace if you don't speak German or aren't experienced with the system- it didn't feel like tourists were welcome. The...More

We arrived at 10:30 to be led into the cave with helmet. The climb down is fairly easy with ladders to help with the decent. It is quite wet so wear waterproofs and gloves as the metal ladders are cold. The guide speaks perfect English...More
