    Beautiful beach for a walk
A most beautiful west coast beach for a long walk along the shore. The wind can blow, so planning thus its most often best to do early morning. Plenty of open parking and close to town.

Golden sand of Paternoster beach front
Beautiful beach and views. Great for swimming and kids to play on the sand. The beach is clean. You get to see lots of fishing boats going out in the evening/early morning. Awesome sunrise & sunsets- great for photos. Some great restaurants along the beach- Voorstrand, Gaaitjie & close to the Waterfront.

    Super beach but icy water!
Paternoster beach is a large broad curve of sand and it is beautiful. But the water (in February) was SO COLD! I don't mind cold water swimming but even I could not stay in for more than a few minutes. It must have been about 7 degrees Celsius! Don't let that stop you jogging, strolling and enjoying the beach. But think twice before you take a plunge!

This beautiful beach in the heartbeat of Paternoster & is stunning.
Great for a walk in the sunshine, with its surf & the sounds of the sea birds.

The beach is big and beautiful. This is a shoreline where you can enjoy a walk alone or with a loved one. Nature rules here so don't forget your camera.

Very beautiful natural beach, especially wild towards the north end of the town. Long walks along the sea, sometimes very windy though - prepare to be sandblasted!

The water is cold - to be expected with the Atlantic Ocean.

Definitely recommended for nature lovers!

Great beach except when the fisherman are loading boats. It is like a race track and at some point someone will get hurt

Lovely for a long beach walk, however if it is windy, you might need a light jacket. Ingenius seagulls picking up shellfish and dropping them from a hight to break the shells.

Not a great beach by any stretch; rather grubby, grey sand, stray dogs and hawkers annoying you. Much better beaches not far away.

Absolutely beautiful - apart from end of town the beach was spotless. Could literally walk for miles... Love the town, beach, accommodation, choice of restaurants...
