Beautiful beach

We walked up and down this beautiful beach, the sea was icy, but fresh. Lovely sand and a magnificent wind-free day

This is a gorgeous sandy beach but it has two big negatives. The water is freezing cold, and people are driving their cars, with braais and boat trailers right on the beach. I prefer my beaches car-free.

The beach is easy to access and long enough for a reasonable stroll. All types of shells can be found on and below the high tide limit.

The main, northern bay is long and broad. Cars drive on the hard sand, which looks more like a cement/sand mixture than a "white beach". And because of plenty of sharp mussel shells, sandals are recommended. The more southern beach is a bit smaller but cleaner; and without cars. More to the south there's a lot of kelp on the... More

Do try the sea kayaking, such a lovely activity and the guide has a great passion for what he does and truly enjoys it. Get lost in a bit of nature- well worth the stiff arms ;)

Great place & the views amazing. Security tight too & the warm reception from locals also makes u feel at home. All in all is worth visiting and taking some time out with friends and family. Good for picnics and photo shoots as well

Unspoilt and clean this beautiful beach is a dream - in the South of France, it would be thronged with sun worshippers - I counted three other people in mid January!

We came here a couple of years ago almost by mistake, we needed accommodation on our way north and like to stay on the coast. The drive in to the village gives a great panoramic view of the bay. We stayed in a cottage on top of the rocks to the south of the bay. Light yellow sand beach curves... More

Paternoster Beach is lovely and certainly worth walking down. The southern end is busier and where the fishing boats launch from; getting quieter the further north you go. The beach is wide, and most of the residential properties are set back a little so it is still a good public beach; dotted with massive boulders - it really is very... More
