Called in here on our way to Hexham. The young man in the office was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all our questions. They have a small shop...with a few tasters......you can buy a hot drink...which we did.......and they have toilets there too. Hard...More

We walked from Corbridge which was lovely, took just over an hour. Had a picnic on the grass outside then went in for a look around with our 4-legged friend. Served by Craig who was friendly and helpful. Very interesting building with information boards dotted...More

Amazingly well preserved 12th century castle. Hard to believe people still lived here until 1966. wow. Good grounds. On a nice day, this would be a good spot to hang out.

Well preserved fortified manor house / castle where you are free to wander - good place for kids who like to explore. Off the beaten track so tends to be quiet / crowd free & ver helpful / enthusiastic staff

This fortified manor house is a gem, just outside of Corbridge. It is amazing to think that it was lived in until about 50 years ago! Worth a peek....

Aydon Castle was built as a manor house in the 13th Century and then fortified a few years later. In the 17th century it became a farm and remained one until 1966. It was quite hard to find on the minor road off the A68...More
